Flinders Street Wharves

A waterfront destination, redefined.

Flinders Street Wharves is a contemporary dining and events precinct delivered on Townsville’s historic waterfront. Built and developed by SSCG, the project brings together hospitality venues, public space and event infrastructure within a cohesive precinct designed to operate seamlessly across day-to-night trade and large-scale programming.

The development responds directly to its waterfront context, creating strong connections between built form, public realm and outlook. Circulation, sightlines and access were carefully considered to support both everyday use and peak-capacity events, while maintaining a clear sense of place.

Project approach

The precinct was delivered with a focus on flexibility, durability and long-term operational performance. From early coordination through to completion, each element was planned to support multiple uses without compromising the guest experience.

Services integration, spatial planning and material selection were approached with longevity in mind, ensuring the precinct can adapt to seasonal activations, live events and evolving operational needs over time.
